Erika Olson, an American Expat, raises babies and writes songs in the high weald of East Sussex. Combining vulnerable vocals, contemporary storytelling, and musical influences spanning indie, folk, country, blues, Americana and pop. Erika likes to call her style “folk with a beat.”
In the run up to releasing her debut album, Erika has raised her children alongside her music, using the calm moments in the sea of chaos to hone her craft, study, practice, record, and perform.
‘Hungry Little Bird‘ is from this forthcoming album, and it was written, in Erika’s words “…to honour my partner’s struggle and triumph over anorexia. This song has evolved since its inception and now feels like an aching love letter striving to remind anyone feeling alone or adrift that they are loved and that they belong in this world.”
